About this deal

Following the development of the blanc cassis aperitif (white wine with Crème de Cassis), the company progressively focused its activities on producing fruit crèmes, liquors, brandies and marcs de Bourgogne.

Peach liqueur is a clear liqueur that is made with peach and often has touches of other fruit in it such as oranges. Bols makes a peach liqueur, as does Briottet, Divas and La Playa. Berentzen Peach Liqueur is made with special sun-ripened peaches that are carefully selected and chosen for their superior quality. The base spirit is 100 percent single-grain wheat, ensuring a smooth sip and a clean finish.As with all Briottet’s cremes this tastes of the fruit it was made from, juicy fresh ripe peaches. You can drink peach schnapps straight but even the most hardcore fan tends not to as it is very sweet. But if you do serve it this way, have it at room temperature in tulip-shaped glass flutes, 1-2 ounces per glass. It is usually served as an aperitif or after-dinner drink.

Crème de Pêche Details

Merlet Creme de Peche features small, wild peaches that grow in the vineyards in and around the Cognac region. Though small, these peaches have a strong, highly concentrated flavor that lends itself quite nicely to this delicate spirit. They’re also unique in that the flesh is red and white instead of the more common golden yellow color. I’ve tried this a number of different ways using both bourbon and rye, and using demerara simple syrup vs. no simple syrup.
