Priced at 130 dollars, the Brooks Adrenaline is worth every penny. They provided me with countless comfortable miles because of the execution of all aspects. Brooks uses 3D fit print to construct the upper of the Adrenaline. There are no overlays as a result. There were no points of irritation. The traditional lacing system allows you to tie once to get the perfect fit. The drop of this shoe is 12mm, being 1mm less than the previous GTS 20, but still much higher than the running shoe average drop of 8-10mm. If the shoes come from an official way, not some grey direct import from far east and they come from Brooks themselves this is absolute faking customers during the pandemic. They hope people can’t or will not return the online bought shoe. Segmented crash pad flexes with the foot, offering customized cushioning and stability for a smooth heel-to-toe transition. One of two changes to version 21 is that the DNA Loft (Brooks’s highly aerated midsole foam) has been extended all the way through from heel to toe to give a slightly softer, bouncier ride. In truth, this change was barely noticed but that’s because this was already a supremely cushioned shoe that absolutely coddles your foot through the gait cycle – if you love a soft feel you’ll struggle to find better. Structured UpperAlthough a great shoe, and one I’ll continue to use, the shoe is not perfect. There are two main negatives that linger in my mind. The biggest issue for me was the 12mm drop. An impatient runner may give up on them before they are ready. That would be a real shame, because once they are broken in, they are a dream in which to run. However this is partly down to the resistant and durable materials that Brooks uses – so if you’re not in a rush, I guess a little break-in time is a fair trade-off for a great quality pair of trainers that will last you countless miles. Consider coming into a store and doing a video gait analysis. Gait analysis monitors your body’s movement and your feet (sports biomechanics) whilst running. The first time I tried on the Adrenaline 21, two things stood out to me: the snug fit and the firm underfoot. The toe box also feels more comfortable now after a few miles, although I’d still prefer a bit more room for my toes to splay. The firmness was definitely noticeable at first, but after a few runs, I found that the foam broke in nicely, becoming more supple.
