Filco Majestouch-2 Tenkeyless Tactile Action UK Keyboard
About this deal
The Majestouch-2 came out in mid 2011. On the surface, the Majestouch-2 looks quite similar to the earlier edition as most of the changes were made to the printed circuit board (PCB) that lies at the heart of the keyboard. The PCB has been made out of a more resilient material that is better suited to the physical stresses of being typed upon. The solder pads go through the holes drilled in the board and the PCB is also more heat-resistant to allow for better initial soldering. Congrats to Filco for offering this model, and thanks to MechanicalKeyboards.com for selling it at a good price with speedy delivery :-) My only major issue so far is with the spacebar. It has one cherry MX switch in the middle, and then a metal bar going horizontally with plastic holds at the end, rather than 3 cherry switches. The longer version: As some of the other reviewers, I am a programmer. I spend a considerable portion of my day typing, so a decent keyboard is a piece of kit worth investing in. PC : When installing with a wired connection, please use a DOS/V personal computer that has a USB port.

I'm french, and i took it in QWERTY but it's not a problem because the UK layout and keys size are the same than in France. Alex04/02/2022This is my first proper mechanical keyboard and Ive really enjoyed using it. The silent reds have worked well at keeping keyboard noise down when recording. Construction is great. I did make a couple of very easy modifications to the keyboard to make it even quieter. The most famous line of Filco keyboards in the West is the Majestouch line. The Majestouch line has had one major revision and many minor ones. There also have been a number of limited edition variants produced. Let’s have a look at the most interesting ones. Bought with the O-Ring Swtich Dampeners along with the Key Puller to reduce noise, and I'm very pleased with the results.I also loved that they included a FILCO branded velcro cable tidy, a nice additional touch. I’ll most certainly make use of it. I have been using apple keyboards all my professional work time and have never expected what it means to work on a keyboard that is as heavy and rigid as this one! The board is quite inclined even without the feet extended, which may not be to everyone's taste. The key surface also sits quite high compared to other (non-mechanical) keyboards I've used - I found I needed to lower my desk surface about 1cm to be comfortable and I may need to get a wrist rest.

David26/04/2017I was looking for a smaller keyboard without a number pad so that I don't have to reach excessively for my mouse. I already have an Evoluent mouse and was trying to improve the ergonomics even further. FN & App keys located on the left side of arrow keys are in different positions from other Majestouch 2 series. I wouldn't really recommend this keyboard unless you're comfortable with a ringing sound every time you press a key.The drop test didn’t cause any concerns, the + key came off on the number pad side, but it didn’t damage the switch under neath it.
