About this deal

Beginning in 2006 and lasting for twelve years, Jack Daniel’s partnered with Ducks Unlimited to release a special new series of bottles, donating a portion of sales to this organization’s conservation efforts. It aimed at establishing criteria to control the quality of whiskeys produced in the United States : the harvest had to take place in the same year, the production had to be done in a single distillery, the whiskey has to be aged exclusively in new American white oak barrels and for a minimum period of 4 years.

Fermented using their own house yeast, and aged in their own barrels, coopered in house to their specifications. It is a big, bold Tennessee Whiskey at 100 proof with layered notes of caramel, rich oak, and spice giving way to a pleasantly lingering finish. The heat builds nicely here and provides an extra kick of spice to help balance any of the sweetness of the palate. The flavors aren’t bold or in your face but can easily lure you into drinking more pours than you expect. Additional information about this bottle will be provided in Volume III of the Jack Daniel’s Bottle Collector’s Guide which has an anticipated release in 2024.The High Angel’s Share Barrel bottle was named for the higher than normal evaporation (or angel’s share) that occurred during the aging process. Barrels are hand-selected for their characteristics of deeper color, flavor, and aroma, which deliver a darker, richer, and more oak-forward character. This turns austere, with the cherry note taking on a mineralic cast as the whiskey approaches the finish.

I am surprised at how much more I enjoy this bonded rye expression over the Tennessee whiskey expression. years later, the Bottled in Bond Act is proof of America’s commitment to ensuring the quality of whiskey.Originally released for the Travel Retail market, this edition of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey is bottled at 100 proof, adhering to the rules sets as part of the Bottled in Bond Act, which was passed all the way back in 1897. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. In the middle of the mouth, the cherry notes have a resurgence, albeit in a less ripe, more tart form. An amazing JD, fell in love with it, it kind of reminded me of the JD whiskey I drank long time ago in early 2000’s that I feared will never taste again. The Bonded series from Jack Daniel’s might be the most exciting thing to come out of the distillery since they started offering barrel proof versions of their Tennessee whiskey.
