About this deal

Mortimer takes Firefox's sword, feeling a strange coldness within him; he believes his anger and sadness are changing him into a different person. The ending was meant to be a cliffhanger, but upon closing the book my only thought was “a) my head hurts and b) Who’s going to get poor Mr. At no point do the plotlines intersect—okay, the adults all met up when Roxane arranged for the Barn Owl to tend Mo, and Dustfinger spoke to Resa through the bars of her dungeon cell in total darkness, and Funke implies something weird here, something to the effect of “she had fond memories of him visiting her in the dark” which confirms my suspicion from book one that there was something between these two.

Es gab auch keine einzige Stelle in dem Buch, an der ich unbedingt wissen wollte, wie es weitergeht.

In this fantasy world, certain readers have the power to bring characters out of booksand send them back. Silvertongue") sagely says to his daughter, "Stories never really end, Meggie, even if the books like to pretend they do. Meggie and Farid, apprentices to the fire-eater Dustfinger, follow him to the Inkworld, the land of the book-within-a-book, Inkheart, after he has been read back into its story by a mysterious man named Orpheus.

Objectively, I know that taking a week to read a book can in no way count as a slump - but while reading this book I felt like I was in a slump. Oddly enough, it reminded me of Star Wars III, when it seemed that all hope was lost and the Dark Side was going to win.Satisfied that the book works, the words are all erased and replaced by the Adderhead's name, consequently making the Adderhead invincible. Of course, it's that sort of earnest, almost gushing veneration of books and book-loving that made the absorbing suspense-fantasy Inkheart so wonderful in the first place, with that lit-affection getting woven integrally into the plot ( Inkheart being both Funke's first book in the series, and the fictitious book within that book, authored by the frustrated Fenoglio, now trapped within the book, er, within the book. Farid is resurrected in Dustfinger's place as Meggie reads Orpheus to the Inkworld to resurrect Dustfinger. Eine Welt die dem Mittelalter ähnelt, aber von vielen illustren Charakteren bevölkert ist: wie den Wolkentänzer, den schwarzen Prinzen mit seinem Bären, die alte "Nessel" oder den Brandfuchs.

Furthermore, I felt the writing dropped in quality; Funke did more telling than showing, and as a result I had a hard time staying present with the characters. When he finds a crooked storyteller with the magical ability to read him back, he sets in motion a dangerous reversal that sees the characters of Inkheart transported to a charmed Inkworld, about to be fought over by rival rebels and princes . Todo se gesta en la mitad del libro y se va agigantando hasta que toca la página 657 (sí, es largo).

This one diverged quite nicely in comparison, but I couldn't help but compare Inkspell to Funke's Mirrorworld series. I love the fact that we finally see the inkworld, as Meggie and Farid decide to embark on their journey to go after Dustfinger. Die Zitate vor den Kapiteln sind auch wieder perfekt ausgewählt und geben jedes Mal einen kleinen Einblick darauf, wie es weitergeht. Well, part of the reason was that I really did not like Fenoglio, I didn't mind him in Inkheart but he became unbearably arrogant and kind of creepy in this book. Not to give spoilers, but Mo is in a bad way Meggi is still "learning" as well as being in a bad way, mom is struggling and worrying and scared, and back to MO.

However, his lieutenant Firefox, disbelieving of the entire concept from the beginning, is chosen to test it. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. You will meet Mortola and Basta as well — and many new characters too, some to love and some to hate — the Black Prince, Clouddancer, Cosimo, the Fair, Rosenquarz, a glassman, the Adderhead, the Piper.
