About this deal

Your confidence will be diminished when you are repeatedly told that you are bad, and your performance will likely fail. He reveals how some of the world’s most successful people can be labeled as ADHD hunters and offers concrete non-drug methods and practices to help hunters--and their parents, teachers, and managers--embrace their differences, nurture creativity, and find success in school, at work, and at home. These questions and some possible answers are woven through this book, providing basic factual information about ADHD with a twist that helps readers recognize the value - sometimes quite special - of people who have it.

The theory put forth is interesting and helpfully positive, but i was hoping this book would go into greater detail and explore supporting evidence.I can in no way recommend this book if you want a more in-depth and useful knowledge about ADHD or better understanding of people with ADHD. The strategies would have probably been very helpful, although luckily I've already found my own way. Thom Hartmann is a progressive radio talk show host, author, and retired businessman who was born and grew up in Michigan. Many of the adults who take Ritalin for ADHD swear that they wished they had discovered this medication long before because of how it has made their life so much easier.

Additionally, nomadic Ariaal have high rates of a genetic mutation linked to ADHD, while more settled Ariaal populations have lower rates of this mutation.

It is argued that in the hunter-gatherer cultures that preceded farming societies, hunters needed hyperfocus more than gatherers. The metaphor of a ‘hunter in a farmer’s world’ fits so many of the ADHD youngsters and adults with whom I have worked.
