About this deal

For that reason, this followup title is also a bit of a letdown… but I understand why it’s important to prioritize the commands of the trainer rather than the lyrics of the included songs. Once a few combos have come your way, you’ll swap over to the Southpaw stance to mirror what you just did, making sure that you get a balanced workout. For example, pre-workout, your instructor might warn you about a common mistake people make during this kind of exercise. You’ll be spending a good deal of time with your trainer though, so the ability to swap them out just to hear a fresh voice is a welcome addition. The game and peripheral went on to sell over 22 million copies while also inspiring a laundry list of copycat fitness programs on Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft hardware.

Wii Fit always bothered me with long menus, slow introductions to the exercises and needing to spend a lot of time waiting before jumping into the yoga poses or other activities. His favourite Nintendo character used to be a guitar-playing dog, but nowadays he prefers to hang out with Judd the cat. It does add in things like a proper score function, which lets you build up a larger and larger score before entering a special mode where the levels go all chaotic and colourful, and the new areas are also quite nice, with each one being nice and vibrant, but it’s all just window dressing. Whenever I see art for this game I get excited and think it's a new "Feel The Magic/Rub Rabbits" game and get really excited. The best and worst part of Fitness Boxing is that it doesn't need any additional hardware but instead relies on joy-con movement, which isn't always very accurate. Janice is incredibly enthusiastic and bubbly, but if that isn’t your style, there are eight other instructors to choose from, including three new trainers introduced in this sequel: Janice herself, Hiro, and… Karen; surprisingly, her personality is the complete opposite than some would suspect! Before I get into the specifics of Fitness Boxing 2, I should add that I have had a couple of exercise games in the past: Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus being the primary points of reference to me. Crank up the volume and work up a sweat as you box to the beat of 23 punchy tracks, including instrumental versions of hit songs.

Swapping outfits didn’t really enhance gameplay for me personally, but if you’re looking for some variety, maybe it’ll be a feature that you’ll appreciate more.Don't get me wrong though, there's nothing that replicates the joy/effect of actually punching an object with resistance rather than punching the air. The gameplay involves using the Joy-Con motion controllers to perform punches and dodging maneuvers.
