About this deal

One of the most beloved and iconic holiday albums of all-time, this best-selling perennial classic continues to introduce generations of children to the joys of jazz, year after year, with songs like “Christmas Time Is Here” and the instantly recognizable “Linus and Lucy.

Features some of the most iconic tracks in pop culture, including the instantly recognizable "Linus and Lucy" and the festive "Christmas Time Is Here. I’d been long frustrated by off-center, lackluster pressings over the years, and unfortunately had endured many distorted versions in my quest to find a clean original. The sound quality of the CD too is really good and is really lovely to listen to during the Christmas season, it's really nice and relaxing 😊🙏🏼Little tip, get yourself some resealable CD protection covers to look after it, as this will really keep it in nice condition also over the years 😊🙏🏼Hope this has helps anyway and sending you lots of love! Truth is, I purged my old vinyl copy of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” many years ago when I got the SACD version.

Il vinile verde è molto particolare, non è un valore aggiunto secondo me (nelle altre foto c'è il classico disco, queste versioni trasparenti e colorate non mi fanno impazzire ma forse è questione di abitudine).

It never touches the sonic cliches of Christmas music, and manages to convey the complete range of emotions you might feel about the season.

As I mentioned earlier, as a bonus in this new edition, we get an entire additional LP of outtakes and alternate takes that provide fascinating insight into how the album was made. For our purposes, we’re going with the latter designation here, since that’s the specific nomenclature on the cover of the 2LP edition Mark is reviewing. I prefer how Guaraldi’s piano sounds on this new edition, especially in comparison to the originals that always sounded a little bit on the boxy side (even on my aforementioned SACD). This audiophile edition of the album has been cut by George Horn at Fantasy Studios and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at QRP.For a long time now, I have had the feeling there were seemingly a bazillion different versions of Vince Guaraldi’s beloved jazz soundtrack to the timeless “A Charlie Brown Christmas” 1965 TV special out there in the wilds of record collecting.

However once listened through, I'm sure there are quite a few tracks on there that most people would recognise.

I can see it's trying to replicate the original pressing but it'd be nice to have an insert or two considering how legendary the album is. This one-time only pressing is presented in a Foil Board sleeve with embossed Christmas Tree on top of standard jacket. One the the best selling jazz albums of all time is explored across a number of formats, including a comprehensive 4CD+blu-ray super deluxe edition, which features hours of newly unearthed session tapes from Fantasy Records’ vaults. Mind you, I mean no offense to the good folks at Craft Recordings, who indeed have every right to offer these fun, non-audiophile variants for Peanuts collectors and fans around the world — have at it, I say!
