About this deal

All of recorded history occupies the last 10 seconds of December 31; and the time from the waning of the Middle Ages to the present occupies little more than one second.

The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal. In the book "The Anthropic Principle" I found, to my great surprise, that evolutionary biologists believe it was an incredible lucky break, far from inevitable even if given much time. Despite being written forty years ago, the book holds up as a work of art, and presents a beautiful hypothesis on how the human mind came to be. Other topics mentioned include the evolution of the brain (with emphasis on the function of the neocortex in humans), the evolutionary purpose of sleep and dreams, demonstration of sign language abilities by chimps and the purpose of mankind's innate fears and myths. Here we see Sagan the Renaissance Man, trying to bridge hard scientific thinking with artistic intuition. Carl Sagan takes us on a great reading adventure, offering his vivid and startling insight into the brain of man and beast, the origin of human intelligence, the function of our most haunting legends—and their amazing links to recent discoveries. Carl Saltan compone un maravilloso relato de los hechos fundamentales en la historia evolutiva de la vida y más concretamente, de la vida inteligente.

Some terminology that may be used in this description includes: Spine The outer portion of a book which covers the actual binding. What's consistent with theories of Sagan's time and today is that much of our brain activity is subconscious, and the sensation that we are actively directing our behavior is largely an illusion. The Boston Globe "In some lost Eden where dragons ruled, the foundations of our intelligence were laid.i45212107 |b 1030001159223 |d cms |g - |m |h 2 |x 0 |t 0 |i 0 |j 18 |k 050802 |n 11-20-2015 21:16 |o - |a BF431 . i also loved both the down to Earth and humble approach of Sagan, as well as the overall hopefulness of the message. At the time of writing, the right / left split of the brain factored heavily into theories of the mind.

Also, since this book was written in 1977, its safe to say that in the past 40 years someone has written a book on this topic with updated information. A very interesting spin on evolving life on earth, how cosmic rays can influence genetics and bring about changes to lifeforms including humans.

over 600 albums, films and TV shows, Miguel has recorded and performed with some of the greatest artists of our time, spanning multiple genres.
